Rosé 2020
Six short 3D animations for Dom Pérignon's Rosé 2020 launch, built around an animated iridescent bottle shader and colorful liquid simulations.
Summer vibes and iridescence
Dom Pérignon brought me in to create the 3D animations and visuals for the launch of their Rosé 2020 summer campaign. I designed the shots and directed the films, working closely with the brand's art director and creative director, who held the art direction and concept for the campaign. From their color and brand guidelines, I built a vibrant look with saturated colors that evoke summer and the collection. I handled the animation, shading and lighting, and set up a tailor-made animated iridescent shader for the 3D champagne bottle and the liquids. Rémi Loger helped me with the bubble simulations.
Research and visual development
Below are experiments from the start of the project. I worked with the Creative and Art Directors at Moët Hennessy to refine and adjust the design until we landed the final look.
3D Liquid Lookdev Experiments
I explored liquid simulations in Cinema 4D and RealFlow for the project. Here are some tests from while I was researching the look of the splashes and simulations around the bottle.
Refractive shader experimentations
A short screen recording of my process, playing with the procedural possibilities of the colorful refractive shader in Arnold.
3D Bottle design Lookdev Explorations
I built a procedural shader in Arnold and Cinema 4D for the champagne bottle. Combining different noises, I could generate abstract, organic bottle designs with almost infinite iterations. The best part of the setup was that I could easily animate the shader to bring the bottle to life.
