Nouvelle 208
3D motion design and camera mapping for the Peugeot 208 launch, built from still photography and luminous energy effects.

Website video background
For the Peugeot 208 launch, I worked from still photographs provided by the client and turned them into a 3D motion piece for the website background. The main challenge was to move from image to image while still being able to stop on clean photographic frames.
I used camera mapping to project the photos onto reconstructed 3D geometry, then animated the transitions through those spaces. Donald Simonet handled the 3D modeling and worked with me on the camera mapping. I handled the art direction, 3D design and animation, shading, lighting and compositing.
Initial Concepts
The first concepts pushed the luminous energy flux further around the car. The final direction kept the effect more controlled, but these tests defined the graphic language of the piece.
