Overseas
A single-shot 3D film for Vacheron Constantin's Overseas collection, showing how easily its straps swap.
A different strap for each situation
Vacheron Constantin wanted to show how easily the Overseas straps swap, in a travel-themed film. I pitched several storyboards matching their vision, and we settled on a single continuous shot with seamless 3D transitions between the straps.
3D sequence shot
I built the film as one continuous take: the camera flies around the watch while the environments shift around it and the straps change. I animated the whole sequence.
Modeling and materials
Working from Vacheron's technical files, Jerome Levilly modeled the watch and sculpted the fine details in ZBrush, down to the tiny bevel imperfections on each edge. I handled all the shading and materials, crafting the metal finishes to match the real watch.
Storyboard concepts
For the storyboards, I built the 3D scenes and rendered them as sketches, then Jerome Levilly hand-drew extra details on top. Each frame stayed precise and beautiful while matching the real watch design, a hybrid of 3D and traditional 2D drawing.
