Create with Asus
Visual effects and 3D animation for a series of Asus commercials, blending CGI into live action.
Overview
For Asus, I led the visual effects on a series of commercials produced with Zoom Films. Point Flottant took post-production on more than 45 shots, delivered in 4K: all the VFX, from motion design, glitches and simulations to screen replacement, plus the design and animation of fictional software UIs.
As the VFX supervisor, I was on set in Prague during the shoot and stayed across it through post. I handled the 3D animation and the FX R&D and setup, and worked with Jérémy Reveniaud on the lighting, rendering and compositing, while he also ran the simulations. I also built the 3D outro that closes the films, with the laptop transition animation and the motion graphics title reveal. The rest of the team came in on modeling and surfacing (Morgane Costantini, Ophélie Massot), UI and glitch FX (Antoine Aveline) and 2D motion (with Samuel Fiser).
ProArt
The ProArt film mixed CGI into live-action combat shots: a cyberpunk sword, a robot arm with a magnetic shield, a sci-fi mask, and all the on-screen UI and animation. The hard part was the footage itself, shot handheld with the fighters moving fast. Precise 3D tracking, rotomation and rotoscoping let us sit the effects cleanly into the plates.
Vivobook
Aimed at young creatives, Vivobook combined glitches with 3D motion graphics. I built effects from 3D particles and light to give each shot a playful energy.
Zenbook
The main task on Zenbook was a fictional UI graphics app, animated to match the actor's input and the director's vision. We rebuilt the church in 3D, used both inside the UI and to project effects onto its walls, and made a giant glass cube filled with glowing particles and smoke simulations.
