Valentine's Day 2023
Playful 2D and 3D animations for SKII's Valentine's Day, revealing their special edition SKII x White Rabbit gift box.
Overview
For Valentine's Day, SKII created a limited edition SKII x White Rabbit gift box, and I directed two films to celebrate it, working again with the Leo Burnett creative team and Prodigious. I did the 3D animation and camera work, which set the timing and layout for Thomas Rietbergen's 2D animation, and handled the shading, lighting and compositing.
Film 01: SKII x White Rabbit FTE Bottle Reveal
The first film reveals the limited edition SKII x White Rabbit FTE bottle design and its Valentine's Day gift box. A rabbit jumps onto the original FTE bottle, transforming it into the limited edition, which then opens to reveal the gift box. I mixed traditional 2D hand-drawn animation with 3D renders, aiming for a seamless transition between the two mediums as the story unfolds.
Film 02: Two Rabbits and a Bottle
The second film follows two rabbits and the SKII bottle playing hide and seek. It opens with a rabbit brushing past the gift box, which springs open to reveal the bottle inside. As the rabbits and bottle move around, dynamic transitions shift the background color, keeping the product minimal but elegant. The film closes on a clean end screen with the packshot, as the rabbits and bottle make their way back into the box.
