Idole
Two CGI films for Lancôme's Idôle fragrance, built to match the real bottles and their glass finishes.
Overview
For the launch of Lancôme's Idôle fragrance campaign, Publicis Luxe and Prodigious asked me to make two CGI films. The challenge was the glass. Each bottle had its own treatment, from holographic and iridescent finishes to soft gradients and gold interiors, and it all had to read as luxury in CG. I did the animation, the shading, lighting and compositing, and modeled the bottles with Morgane Costantini.
Creating the 3D Idôle fragrances
Working from the client's photo shoot, I matched the Idôle bottles in 3D, keeping each version's specific finish, from holographic and iridescent effects to subtle gradients and gold interiors.
Animation 1: Family
The first film, "Family", brings the four Idôle bottles together in one fluid, looping move. The camera circles the products 360°, while each bottle turns 360° on its own axis, so both sides of every bottle come into view.
Animation 2: Nectar
The second film, "Nectar", is about the ingredients in the new edition. Popcorn and rose petals drift around the bottle, and vanilla pods sit behind it. Erwan Stephan and Jeremy Reveniaud ran the simulations for those elements, and I animated, shaded and lit the scene.
