Absolue - AI Innovation Visuals
3D CGI shots for Lancôme's Absolue AI Innovation film, made with Velvet.
CGI for Lancôme's Absolue AI
For Lancôme’s Absolue “AI Innovation” campaign, I made a series of CGI shots that Velvet integrated into their film. I designed the 3D, lit and composited it, and animated it with Samuel Fiser, who also did the 2D design. Velvet set the creative direction; my part was to turn the peptides, the molecule and the AI testing process into visuals that felt precious and true to Lancôme.
3D Peptides Morphing Animation
I built an animation that reveals the Lancôme molecule through a particle morph. It starts on a stylized golden peptide, breaks into a flow of particles, then reassembles into the molecule. I kept the gold materials elegant throughout, with light caustics running across them.
3D AI Process Visualization
With Velvet’s creative director, I explored ways to show the AI testing molecule combinations. The version we landed on reads clearly and stays inside Lancôme’s brand guidelines.
Cells and molecules for the FUI
The film’s live-action came with FUI, fictional user interfaces, running on the screens in shot. I created all the 3D animations of the cells and molecules that play inside those interfaces, built to run on the real screens and be captured in camera on set.
Procedural R&D
Early on, I ran a lot of research, focused on procedural animation systems in Cinema 4D and X-Particles, ways to show the molecules interacting and sorting in an elegant way. Those explorations set the direction the final animations followed.
