6.18 Shopping Festival 2024
3D visuals and animation loops for Lancôme's 2024 6.18 Shopping Festival, made with Velvet.
A visual journey from Paris to Shanghai
For Lancôme’s 6.18 Shopping Festival, the agency Velvet came to me with their concept: a journey from the soft morning light of Paris to the warm sunset over Shanghai. I built it as a series of 3D scenes, leading the art direction and handling the animation, shading, lighting and compositing myself, with the team on the modeling.
Key Visuals
I produced 20 key visuals as versatile 3D backgrounds, in the formats the campaign needed. I also built 3D replicas of Lancôme’s products, so I could match the angle and framing on every visual. That let the photographed products drop cleanly onto the custom backgrounds, exactly to Velvet’s vision.
3D Animation Loops
I animated a set of seamless loops to give the visuals motion and depth. The floating ribbons carry most of it, looping without a visible seam so the scenes feel alive.
Visual Research and Explorations
During the pitch, I explored the look with Velvet through detailed 3D mockups. They weren’t final quality, but they were far enough along for the client to picture the campaign. Below are some of those explorations.
