Kérastase Chronologiste Science
Three short CGI films illustrating the science behind Kérastase's new Chronologiste line.

Overview
Kérastase asked me for three short CGI films to illustrate the science behind the new Chronologiste line: the cell, the factors of hair aging, and hydration. I directed the films, led the art direction and ran the team, managing the project and coordinating every department through to delivery.
I built the three films on the same codes as the products, black, gold, glass and light, so the science reads as part of the Chronologiste campaign.
Cell
The first film starts on the same black pearls as the campaign packshots, then goes inside one of them, down to the scale of a cell where the molecules connect. The science opens on an image people already know from the campaign.

Hair Longevity Wheel
The second film lays out the factors of hair aging as a wheel, one segment for each: cell senescence, stem cell exhaustion, loss of proteostasis and the others. I turned the diagram into a gold object the camera can travel around, so a scientific chart holds up next to the product films.

Skin Hydration
The third film shows hydration: a drop runs along a hair fiber, then spreads across the skin's cells, lighting them up as it goes. The gold light shows where the hydration reaches, so the idea reads without any text on screen.
